See: Lion Escapes From Jos Zoo

The Jos Wild life Park has engaged retired marksmen to recapture the lion that escaped from its cage, Wednesday morning, Mr. John Doy, Acting General Manager, Plateau Tourism Corporation, has said.

Doy said the animal slipped out while being fed in the morning.

“I believe it's still within the vicinity of the park.”

“The marksmen are moving around trying to recapture the lion. Many strategies, including using nets, are being used to cage and capture it”, he said.

He added that personnel from other security agencies were also helping in the effort.

Doy said the situation had created much anxiety in the Rantya community where the facility was located.
