The Senate minority leader of the
opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Godswill Akpabio was
yesterday sacked by the court of appeal.
In delivering its judgment, The Federal Court of Appeal said that violations to the Electoral Act during the senatorial election between Mr. Akpabio and the All Progressives Congress candidate Inibehe Okori informed its ruling.
The APC candidate, had Inibehe Okori appealed the election tribunal judgment which earlier declared Akpabio winner
The Court, therefore ordered a rerun election in Akwa Ibom State within 90 days.
