Okonjo-Iweala in the Eyes of Oshiomhole

As Oshiomhole rants, Nigerians raise Okonjo-Iweala, we’re told that the appellation of “Wailing wailers” is befitting of sympathisers, supporters or anyone remotely/directly associated with the opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

However, in actual fact, the person for whom this title is most fitting should be Governor Aliyu Adams Oshiomhole, who has usurped the role of Lai Mohammed as the chief spokesman of the Buhari administration.

Not only has Oshiomhole gone AWOL as Edo State governor, he is now the de facto Finance Minister and Auditor General of the Federation, who knows how every penny in Nigeria’s government is/was being spent.

However, instead of feeding his audience with facts, this new Minister of Finance and Information has decided to show the world how ignorant he could be by running after shadows.

At every turn, Oshiomhole’s only spar partner is the erudite Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

There is nothing Oshiomhole has not accused Okonjo-Iweala of doing. If he had a bad day; it is Okonjo-Iweala.

A bland soup presented to him by his wife is caused by Okonjo-Iweala. Oshiomhole delights a lot in Okonjo Iweala. He is willing to wail at every mention of her name.

From the ridiculous to the mundane issues in Nigeria, in Oshiomhole’s world, Okonjo-Iweala caused it! The recent trial of former NSA, Dasuki, has opened up another opportunity for Oshiomhole to unleash his anger on Okonjo-Iweala.

I keep asking myself: why is Oshiomhole obsessed with Okonjo-Iweala? Is it just jealousy? Perhaps there’s something else the comrade governor is not telling us.

In any case, in the heat of the exchanges between the duo; I took a peep into the world of social media to see what people are saying.

Numerous Nigerians took to several social media platforms to heavily criticise the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, for his recent attacks on Okonjo-Iweala.

Nigerian social media users, especially on Facebook and Twitter, expressed their disappointment at the “unguarded and reckless” criticisms of the governor.

They levelled many allegations against the governor including corruption, indecency and unworthiness.

I’ve taken the liberty to post some of the comments here:

@deluxegas wrote: @NOIweala Sue him (Oshiomhole). I still remember how Dora Akunyili got former AGF Mr. Aondoaka to do a public apology. Do it! Agu nwanyi!!

Success Adams ‏@12SAdams wrote: @NOIweala Oshomole needs to be taught a good lesson His gutter is leaking more than expected.

Mezie Clements ‏@MezieClements wrote: @NOIweala of course he need to be call to Oder because the old fool is misbehaving too much since he married that little underage girl

John Idiege ‏@idiege_john wrote: @NOIweala l disrespect oshiomole the day he took his grandchild as wife.

On Facebook Nigerians have these to say:
Chukwudi Nwachinemere wrote: In a normal country, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala should be Governor....... and Adam oshomole her driver.

Edwin Ogbemudia Obaseki wrote: We from Edo state see him as the greatest mistake that happened to Edo.

Madam Ngozi, God has taken you up there, our Oraguntang of a Governor cannot pull you down. We love you

Onyebuchy Hookz wrote: To say the oshiomole is reckless is an understatement.his level of stupidity is beyond ordinary imagination & the number of his like in the apc is embarassing.no wonder the type of change we're seeing.

Cyril Okeke wrote: What don't know the value of Okonjo Iweala but the international community knows her worth.

She was honoured yesterday with the likes of Bill Gates in a ceremony that was attended by the likes of former president Clinton. I respect her because she's a woman of integrity.

Obasanjo removed from finance ministry because she refused to carry out a corrupt instruction from Obasanjo. If not for her prudent financial management Nigeria would have collapsed.

She has nothing to do with the money in question because they bypassed her knowing that she would not agree to play a corrupt game.

From the foregoing, is it not obvious that Oshiomhole is playing to the gallery? Isn’t it about time the governor cut the former minister some slack?

Is there something Oshiomhole is not really telling us about his obsession with Okonjo-Iweala?
